Tim Doughty

Prynodd Tim Doughty ei lyfr cyntaf i ddysgwyr “Welsh for Learners” yn 1979.  Proses unig iawn oedd dysgu Cymraeg yn yr adeg hwnnw cyn i’r rhyngrwyd, ond ar ôl y Cwrs Cymraeg yn Berkeley, California, yn 1998, dechreuodd pethau wella’n gyflym.  Rŵan mae Tim yn weithgar mewn y Siop Siarad (grŵp sgwrs Cymraeg) a chyfryngau cymdeithasol Cymraeg.  Mae o wedi profi ei sgiliau Cymraeg drwy sawl taith i Gymru.

Tim Doughty bought his first “Welsh for Learners” book in 1979. In those pre-internet days, learning Welsh was a lonely process.  Then in 1998 he attended his first Cwrs Cymraeg, in Berkeley, California.  He as attended many since then and has enhanced his Welsh learning with an active participation in Welsh-Language social media.  During a visit to Wales in 2019 he found that, yes, he is a Welsh speaker, and so are you!

Sarah Stevenson

Sarah Stevenson took her first Welsh language classes at UC Berkeley in 1996-97. She has been a regular attendee at Cwrs Cymraeg Cymdeithas Madog since 1999, including serving on the Board from 2003 to 2012 and again from 2019 to 2022, and she has made many good friends on her Welsh learning journey over the years. She is the author of four books for young adult readers, including one partially set in Wales. Besides being a writer, she is an editor, artist, and graphic designer, and currently works part time for Scholastic Teachables as a proofreader and production assistant. Prior to that, she was a professor of Humanities at Modesto Junior College, and she looks forward to teaching Welsh this summer! She lives in Northern California with her husband and two rather demanding cats, none of whom speak Welsh…yet.
