We are excited to announce that the 2026 Cymdeithas Madog in-person summer course, Cwrs Cymraeg Bryn Dderw (Oak Hill Welsh Course), will be held at University of Rio Grande / Rio Grande Community College, Rio Grande, Ohio from 19 – 26 July 2026.

We have a great Cwrs planned for 2026! Our tutors’ biographies will be available very soon on the Cymdeithas Madog home page under “learn more about our summer 2026 course.”

The Wednesday excursion will be to a tour of the Welsh Scenic Byway. There will be many other activities to enjoy over the week, including Welsh folk dancing (twmpath), film night, Welsh quiz, games night, and extra workshops on Welsh topics of interest. Our Noson Lawen and Eisteddfod will be highlights of the week!

Cost per participant for the week:

• Early Bird Residential (by 11:59 pm ET on May 22^nd): $1,210
• Residential (after May 22^nd): $1,310
• Early Bird Commuter or Tag Along (by 11:59 pm ET on May 22^nd): $760
• Commuter or “tag-along” (after May 22^nd): $810

What’s included for residential students:

• 24 hours of in-class instruction by qualified Welsh language instructors
• Room, board and refreshments for the duration of the course
• Tour of the Welsh Scenic Byway
• Airport pick-up and drop off (Columbus Airport)
• End of Cwrs banquet
• Daily extracurricular activities
• Evening program of events

What’s included for commuter students:

• Tuition, all meals and scheduled refreshments, participation in all activities and Wednesday tour

What’s included for “tag-alongs”:

• Room, all meals and scheduled refreshments, participation in evening activities and Wednesday tour

Accommodation

Cwrs Cymraeg attendees will be staying in Trinity Hall, Rio’s newest dorm building.

• Up to 4 people will be sharing apartments. Each apartment has its own bathroom with shower
• Trinity Hall is handicapped accessible, but please inform us of any accessibility needs
• All rooms/suites are air conditioned

Airport Pick-Up/Drop-Off

A free airport pick-up and drop-off service has been arranged for John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH).

• Pick up will be at 3pm on Sunday, July 19th. Please ensure your flights arrive in plenty of time. 3pm is when the bus leaves the airport.
• Drop off will be at 3pm on Sunday, July 26th, Please ensure your flights depart AFTER this time, and that you have enough time.
