Lluniau o Gymru

Pictures of Wales

Wales is a land of great beauty. From the peak of Eryri ("Mount Snowdon") to the cymoedd ("vales") of South Wales, there are few lands with such dramatic scenery. Here is just a taste of Wales in pictures.

Castell Caerdydd / Cardiff Castle

<< Previous

Cardiff Castle has a long and storied history. It began life as a Roman naval base. In the Norman period, the Roman walls protected a motte and bailey castle - first in wood and then in stone (pictured). The castle later came into the possession of the Bute family who added and modified the site to modern times.
